American Oak Reviews
Came here for post dinner drinks- amazing ambience and the bartender went above and beyond in making us the most delightful drinks. Not only did he give us samples of a few different whiskeys, he made sure the grapefruit was freshly squeezed in what might be the mezcal paloma I've ever had. Service was impeccable and loved the whole experience can't wait to come back for dinner.
Alway great when you can find a good ole American comfort food place having grown up in the Midwest. This place hit the spot from the whisky to steak to Mac n cheese to corn bread. We were told it would be about 30 mins or so wait for table outside so we choose to sit instead at the bar which was nice because it was right by the whisky. Bartenders were friendly and funny. And the hubby and I enjoyed a great date night out. We'll be back!
This place has been in my bookmarks for the longest! Finally came here for a friend's bday. They don't take reservations so come early. They have limited outdoor seating on their patio and two tables on the outskirts of the sidewalk. They had some fire lamps but it wasn't strong enough. Our waitress was a little rude in the beginning but began to warm up towards the end of our dining experience. The drinks: Put me in coach was the table's favorite! Kind of like a sweeter Moscow mule They have 2 options of whiskey flights Their drinks are pretty too The food: Truffle fries app was the winner The mac and cheese was good but overhyped Brussel sprouts were crunchy and had good flavor The cornbread was good, but a little dry Steaks were cooked perfectly (we ordered medium rare) The pork chop was juicy The mashed potatoes were creamy The bun on the burger wasn't the best Their ranch is off the hook! The portions are huge! A lot of us took half of our dishes home. They only have 2 dessert options, unless they change periodically.
Came here after brunch First time here We sat outside. Perfect view for people watching Not too many other customers there however social distancing and Covid rules are strongly enforced We saw some ladies come in and try to order. They were not wearing masks and the staff quickly and nicely advised them no mask no service. I appreciate that We ordered drinks no food Our waiter was friendly and prompt My drink was good. I will definitely come back and try food next time.
- Cute location with indoor and outdoor seating. While it's long and narrow, it's pretty spacious. - Be prepared to have your proof of vaccination ready when you check in with the host/ess. Highlights -The cornbread tastes like home. The honey butter takes it up a notch. - The roasted cauliflower is perfectly cooked and topped with garlic. You'll gum or mints after eating this. - the grits are just mm mm mmm. Thick, creamy and cheesy. Get them and don't question it. - The brownie with peanut butter whipped cream is just WOW. It's warm, chocolatey, and decadent without being too dense. I would eat this every day if I could. Our server Annie was very knowledgeable of the menu, helpful, and friendly. We plan to go back very soon.
